The current situation at Kisasa Primary School is that we now have eleven teachers and 371 children with a further four classes (180 children) commencing January 2010. We are committed to ensuring that the school receives ongoing financial support so that they have the correct resources in terms of books, and enough for each class. Simon and Caroline recently visited the school in July 2009 to meet up with the School committee and to present head teacher Dina (see pics) and her staff with a brand new laptop and a ‘Gorilla’ power pack to enable extended use during the school day.

We have commissioned our representative in Dodoma, Mr Joseph Biseko, to carry out research with teachers and parents as to how best serve the interests of the children at the school which is being regarded by Local Government as a model establishment. We are looking to the future and considering where our students will continue on to their secondary school education and how we can support them further.

At the moment AZAR is in discussions with a view to partnering with other organisations to provide resources for more schools in the region.
